A few days ago I received a peculiar invitation to the Dove & Brides Bridal Brilliance event at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. It seemed strange to me because, I’ve been married for 15 years. I thought –> that’s weird but, why not? My cousin in Georgia, recently announced her engagement so, I took it upon myself to investigate it on her behalf.
There were so many brides-to-be there with their bridesmaids, friends, family and, some with their grooms to be. I think I was the only blogger there that evening. No worries, I thought to myself.
Once I worked my way into the event I quickly signed up for a Dove Deodorant PitiCure. No, I did not misspell the word. 😀 LOL!! This was a first for me as well as for the many guest at the event.
The PitiCurists gently massaged my arms and scrubbed my elbows, followed by a wipe of my armpits. Once my pits were cleaned of sebum, the technician applied a fresh coat of the Dove Clinical Protection deodorant. I was informed by her that the Dove product she was applying on me, minimizes the appearance of underarm hair over time. “Are you kidding me!!” It has a delicate fragrance and I was pleased with the results. It kept my armpits feeling dry, fresh, and smelly pretty. The thought of less hair to shave, was very appealing to me too. I nearly fell asleep during my mini back massage. Ay! Mama!! It was too relaxing.
Feeling dainty after my armpit facial PitiCure, I strolled through the beautiful garden patio. They had a few models dressed in gorgeous bridal gowns by Monique Lhuillier, walking about and answering the curious brides’-to-be questions. Champagne and hors d’oeuvres flowed freely which I happily helped myself too (that was my dinner).
Being among the lovely brides-to-be brought back memories of my wedding. We never went to any type of bridal event. I relied heavily on magazines to guide me through process. Yes, weddings are a massive undertaking not to be dealt with passively. Our little production was a great success thanks to our familias. Although thinking back, it would have been wonderful to have had the opportunity to indulge in bridal events such as this one. (Better late than never, huh?)
While waiting in line to have my mini manicure done from O.P.I., I spoke with some of the ladies around me. I met one mother of the bride who shared with me her joy and tug of losing her daughter to marriage though, she loved her son-in-law to be. Sometimes it’s tough for us mommas to let go. My boys are now in their teens but, watching nature take over them tugs at my heart too. (Yes, I know I need to cut the cord. Blah, blah, blah.)
The evening was also paired with fun and sassy jewelry from Robbin’s Brothers. They had a beautiful table that sparkled, lined with jewelery named BonnBons by Lori Bonn, displayed. They’re a type of slide charm bracelet you can put together piece by piece. The selections vary from gemstones to tokens and, more.
At the end of the evening, two winners were announced. One person won a pearl neclace from Robbin’s Brothers and the other person won a gift certificate from Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Lucky gals!! As strange as the evening was for me, considering I am not getting married again or ever again, I had a great time being pampered.
Gracias Dove for inviting me to this lovely event and for all the goodies I had the joy of taking home with me. Plus for the refreshing & relaxing PitiCure via Spa Connections.
Robbin’s Brothers, it was a pleasure meeting you and I loved the BonnBons.
O.P.I., thanks!! I needed that mini manicure for my shabby nails after I peeled off my acrylics.
